I was born in Leominster MA, home to Johnny Appleseed, the Pink Lawn Flamingo, and not much else. I was the daughter of a Firefighter/Baker and a Nurse/Cake Decorator. My days were spent listening to WAAF and dreaming about Jon Bon Jovi. My nights were spent teasing my hair and going to every concert that came through town.

The only thing I’ve ever enjoyed learning about is music. While studying for my Associates Degree at Newbury College something happened that would change my life forever - I became a WAAF intern on July 1, 1991 - the same day the Warsaw Pact was dissolved. Who could pass up the chance to get up at 3:30 AM, fetch coffee, and not get paid? I chose Framingham State for my Bachelors Degree solely because it was the closest college to WAAF's studio.

In 1994, my BA in hand and 3 years of interning behind me, I was offered a part time Promotions job at WAAF. For 4 years I drove the vehicles and passed out millions of stickers, all the while bothering everyone in the office daily for a full time job. Since you can't live off bumper stickers alone, I took a second job as a tech – setting up stages, light shows, driving tractor-trailer trucks, and basically working harder than any human should be forced to. However during this time I did get to meet everyone from President Clinton to BB King. That’s what I did right up until I got the call that would change everything!

I was lying in a drunken stupor in Virginia Beach when WAAF's then Program Director called me at 9 in the morning on some random day. He asked me if I had ever thought about becoming a DJ and would I be interested in doing nights at WAAF? I answered, "Are you smoking crack?" He said "No, and don't ever ask me that again."

I took the offer (of course) and did my first show on April 17, 1998. I spent almost 4 years on the air from 7 PM to Midnight. I earned the name 'Mistress Carrie' from the listeners because I'm the 'other' woman in their lives. I did the Mid-Day shift for a while, which begins whenever the Hill-Man Morning Show stops talking about BOOBS! Now, I’m on the air from 3p-7p every weekday and I’m the Music Director.

What else is there to say? Let's see - I have an uncontrollable attraction to men in uniform. I live for my pet pugs, skydiving, riding motorcycles and everything dangerous. In 2006 I was the first ‘non-news’ journalist to be embedded in Iraq with the U.S. Army. I spent two weeks in the Middle East with several units of the Mass. Army National Guard. Upon my return from Iraq, I was awarded the Commanders Award for Public Service, the fourth highest civilian award given by the military. In August of 2008, I was given the opportunity to take an orientation flight in an F-15 fighter jet with the Mass. Air National Guard.

I still love music, and spend as much time as I can listening to new bands, trying to uncover ‘the next big thing’. I have my dream job, and I love it.
